18 carat gold keyless three-quarter plate crystal open face pocket watch with chain (no. 52882). Its backplate is inscribed with "Fridlander & Co., Coventry. Chronometer makers Class A Certificate Kew Observatory Especially Good, 87.3 marks. No. 52882". There are also letters relating to its sale to Mr. G.H. Evans in 1895. It has casemaker's mark "AF" London Hallmark 1893/4. It comes with watch certificate and other supporting documents (separate).
It has a freesprung movement with diamond headstone, jewelled enscrewed chattons. The movement has 'hand cut' steel screws. It has a very large seconds dial.
Inside the case is a sticker saying that the watch should be cleaned and reoiled April 1963. Ashley & Sims, Clerkenwll, London. Makers to the Admiralty.
