IV 5 Jul 1913. Stevens and Charles Augustus Kirby for £573/15/-; sixthly, that expenses and legacies in connection with J. Stevens' will had been discharged; and seventhly, that the executors had assets sufficient to pay off certain outstanding death duties: therefore for £573/15/- G.E. Stevens and Charles A. Kirby sold J. Bill et al 2a. 2r. 8p. (formerly admeasured at 2a. 2r. 3p.) at Broad Lane, Whoberley (lately occupied by J. Stevens) as per reproduced plan.

XII 19 Nov 1926. Conveyance whereby, having recited: firstly, that Sir Edward Mauger Iiffe (of Allesley Park, Allesley, near Coventry, knight, C.B.E., M.P.), Hugh Rotherham (of Keresley Grange, Keresley, near Coventry, [watch-]manufacturer), Edmund Oliver French (of Hertford House, Coventry, gentleman [silk importer]) and Alec Turner (of 278, Earlsdon Avenue North, Coventry, [watch-]manufacturer) possessed the premises; but secondly, that they had agreed to sell them to William Henry Jones (of Lockhurst Lane, Coventry, builder) for £7,000, subject to the Charity Commissioners' approval; thirdly, XI; and fourthly, that William Henry Jones had paid Sir Edward Mauger Iliffe et al's costs: therefore for £7,000 Edward Mauger Iliffe et al conveyed to William H. Jones two pieces of land (together totalling 14a.) at Broad Lane, Stoneleigh parish, Warwickshire, as shown edged in red on a reproduced plan [which is for an area east of Whoberley Hall and west of Guphill Lane] with access from Broad Lane to Whoberley Hall along a carriage road shown in brown on the plan and right of passage by foot and as a bridleway along the rest of "Guppel" [Guphill] Lane [beyond the hall]; W.H. Jones might insert services (to the satisfaction of George Crosbie Dawson of 19, Priory Row, Coventry, surveyor), reserving to Edward M. Iliffe et al access along streets coloured blue and green [faded to blue] on the plan and the liberty to connect therewith at points A and B or elsewhere on the plan streets that they might lay out: W. Jones covenanted that he would only build private houses there; that there would be no use of property for a public house, club or fried fish shop or for noisome, noxious, dangerous or offensive trades; that no caravans or funfairs would be installed there; and that no brickyard or quarry would be developed there, nor burning of materials except in connection with the building work; Jones should erect boundary fences on all sides and maintain those and all already on the site except as indicated between points C and D on the plan, but should remove them between points A and B when E.M. Iliffe et al wished to lay out streets there; street works should be completed within four years from 27 Feb 1925 to Warwick Rural District Council's satisfaction; Jones should maintain the carriage road and Guphill Lane; he would not be entitled to right of light or air so as to restrict E. Iliffe et al's freedom to use their remaining land or build anything on it; Iliffe et al covenanted to produce scheduled documents.
