Whereby, having recited: firstly, the 31 Aug - 1 Sep 1821 marriage-settlement (as in PA101/10/24) whereby Thomas Alsager (as empowered by indentures of release dated 23 Sep 1808 and 20 Nov 1805) appointed that Charles James Berrie and Reverend Edward Blick be trustees for the former "Coal Waste Close" at Wilnecote (14a. 3r. 0p.), the 6a. 0r. 2.25p. "Coal Close" next to it, and 3a. 0r. 3.5p. and 1a.adjoining them (the four pieces totalling 25a. 1r. 10p. and being used as three closes by T. Alsager), a 15-foot wide carriageway from those lands to his other Wilnecote fields (across "Engine Lane" then belonging to Edward Wingfield Dickinson) which it entered by a gate into his "Home Close", another carriageway along Engine Lane to Watling Street, and Little Town Close (lately Catherine Orton's, then T. Alsager's) held with Lapworths Croft, which after the marriage they would hold for the successive uses of T. Alsager for life, M. Alsager for life, the joint lives of William Parsons [II] and Sarah Chantry with right of survivorship, and the couple's sons (and their issue) in order of seniority; and secondly to ninthly, PA101/10/24's second to eighth and tenth recitals: thereore, in consideration of 10/-, Charles William Parsons (of [Austrey,] Atherstone, Warwickshire, gentleman) releases the premises to Charles Langley (described as in PA101/10/24) for the former's use as in PA101/10/24.
