Whereby, having recited: firstly, CCA/2/3/13/29 regarding one moiety, and secondly, CCA/2/3/13/17 (will) concerning the other; thirdly, CCA/2/3/13/17 (probate); fourthly, that William Clayton [I] senior and his wife Elizabeth [I] died long ago; fifthly, that Thomas Clayton died in 18- intestate, leaving his wife (now described as Ann Clayton of Coventry, widow) and his only child (viz. Elizabeth Clayton [II] of Coventry, spinster); sixthly, that William Clayton [II] died in18- intestate, leaving William Clayton [III] (of Swansea, Glamorgan, Wales, hawker) as his son and heir; seventhly, that William Clarke died during May 1833, leaving his wife Martha; eighthly, CCA/2/3/13/18; ninthly, that Martha Clarke died during Dec [1853] and Thomas Clarke (in 1854 described as of Coventry, auctioneer) has proved her will this month in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury; tenthly, that Elizabeth Clayton [II] married Joseph Brown (in 1854 of Coventry, dyer) on 4 Dec 1828 at Saint John Baptist's; and eleventhly, that James Eaves (of Coventry, victualler), Thomas Eaves (of Coventry, plumber and glazer), Ann Clayton, Elizabeth Clayton, William Clayton [III], Thomas Clarke, Charles Evans (of Crick, Northamptonshire, grocer) with his wife Elizabeth, Joseph Marshall Clayton (of 64, Westmoreland Place, City Road, Middlesex, watchmaker) with his wife Maria and Joseph Brown with his wife Elizabeth have got Joseph Loveitt (of Brinklow, Warwickshire, gentleman [chemist]) to lend them £600: therefore they charge to him the front messuage and what are now just ten behind it for redemption of £600 at £4/10/-% per annum interest on 7 Sep [1854] with power of sale six months after notice; covenant to insure for at least £600, the mortgagors reimbursing the mortgagee at £5% per annum interest upon the insurance money if he has to undertake that.
