C.1805.
I 21-22 Apr 1784. Lease and Release whereby, having recited: firstly, that Seth Nelson [I] (of Ramsden Green, Essex, esquire) died during Sep 1781 intestate, survived by his wife Sarah, whose heirs at law were John Morfitt (of the Inner Temple, London, esq.) and Henry Perkins [I] (of Birmingham, Warwickshire, merchant) through their late mothers Rosamond and Eleanor, subject to Sarah Nelson's dower, but that no partition had been made; and secondly, that Matthias Jameson (of Leeds, Yorkshire, gentleman) had agreed to buy J. Morfitt's moiety: therefore J. Morfitt conveyed to M. Jameson a moiety of Corner Close (as PA101/8/180.III but including a barn, Saint John King being described as a former occipant) and of Doe Bank Close (John Boydell now a former occupier) with appurtenances adjoining the northern end of Hill Street beside the road from Bishop Street to Spon "Ends" (occupied by Widow King, gardener).
[Marginal description of Seth Nelson [I], his children (Thomas, Seth [II], Rose (Rosamond) and Eleanor) and their marriages.
II 14 Jul 1788. Will of Matthias Jameson whereby he left his property to his wife Sarah, paying thereout £50 to his brother Thomas and £200 to his brother-in-law Seth Morfitt, with remainder of each legacy to Sarah, who was named executrix.
III 13-14 Aug 1799. Lease and Release whereby, having recited: firstly, that Stanhope Baynes (of Kingston-upon-Hull, Yorkshire, medical doctor) was to marry Sarah Jameson (of Horsforth, Guiseley parish, Yorkshire, widow); secondly, that S. Jameson possessed the hereditaments thereafter described; and thirdly, that S. Baynes and S. Jameson had agreed that they should assign their claim to Thomas Thompson (of Hull, banker) and Samuel Hague (of Leeds, Yorkshire, merchant): therefore Baynes (at S. Jameson's request) transferred to T. Thomson and S. Hague a moiety of the mansion house and grounds (40a.) at Ramsden Bellhouse (alias Ramsden Green), Essex and her other property in Yorkshire, Warwickshire, Essex and Coventry (subject to Sarah Nelson's dower) to the successive uses of S. Jameson until marriage, Baynes for life, S. Jameson's appointees and her heirs; the trustees might exchange the lands for others if requested by Baynes or S. Jameson or might sell them to the couple's nominees, and such purchasers would enjoy the property without hindrance.
