Conveyance whereby, having recited: firstly, William Clayton [I]'s will, death and probate as in CCA/2/3/13/32; secondly, Thomas Clayton's death intestate during Jul 1851, leaving his wife (in 1856 described as Ann Clayton of Coventry, widow) and only child Elizabeth Clayton [II] (in this abstract described as of Coventry, widow [recte spinster]); thirdly, CCA/2/3/13/32,33; fourthly, that £600 was owed to Thomas Roe; fifthly, that Joseph Clayton Brown [no further description] had agreed to buy Elizabeth Clayton [II]'s inherited share for £100; and sixthly, that Ann Clayton had agreed to release her dower-right: therefore A. Clayton and Elizabeth Clayton conveyed to Joseph C. Brown Elizabeth's share (as Thomas Clayton's daughter) in William Clayton[I]'s Much Park Street estate; to be held by J.C. Brown with Thomas Logan (of Coventry, accountant) as trustee.
II 19 Sep 1868. Conveyance whereby, having recited: firstly, that Joseph Brown married Elizabeth Clayton [II], who had since died, so he had an interest in a one-fifth share of the estate subject to James Wall's mortgage; secondly, that J. Brown was absolutely entitled to one-fifth of the estate; and thirdly, that Joseph Clayton Brown had contracted to purchase those shares for £140 subject to the mortgage: therefore for £140 J.
