In 1825 he gave £5 to the National School, of which he was a trustee; Bree chaired the meeting which on 15th. Oct., 1852 appointed new trustees. Bree was a botanist and entomologist (see PA295 passim). PA111/1 refers to a tithe-dispute in which Bree was engaged in 1824. In 1829, John Le Keux (q.v.) dedicated a St. Mary's Hall Great Hall engraving to him (PA1/11/9). See PA14/1/34. In 1830, James Beck took out a tithe-action against Bree - see BA/B/F/32. Bree himself energetically pursued the principle of receiving tithe of milk although his ancestors' position had been inconsistent - see PA56/11. PA473/13/1; PA473/19/1 are connected with his tomb.
