William Louis Joseph Orton, born 1861; died June 1936. He became a solicitor aged 22 for Messrs. Gillespie & Son, Walsall. Articles in the Coventry Herald suggest he was fined for riding a motor bicycle on the path (April 1910), he claimed he had only done it to avoid a water splash. He was in Weston-Super-Mare on the 1911 census staying with his Aunt Millicent Orton Orton who when she died in 1919, left him a portion of her £9941 5s 3d wealth. In 2017 that would be the equivalent of £288,870.22. Member of the Plymouth Brethren. In 1936 his office was based at 9, The Quadrant, Warwick Row, Coventry.

He was mortgagee for Allesley land (1921 - PA466/4/1 page 546), a mortgage assignee for a George Street messuage (1915-25 - PA466/4/1 page 318), and mortgagee for a Hollis Road, Stoke, house (1914-24 - PA466/4/1 page 151).
