This grazier was mayor from 1802 to 1805. Of Pinley - the Pinley farm was held from the owners of the Charterhouse - see CCA/2/3/237/15-16: PA242/2/1.VII. A mortgagee of Mill Lane premises as a trustee of Sir Thomas White's Charity (see PA101/7/360). An executor of Edward Phillips of Fillongley in 1807 (see PA101/11/572) and of Phillips' wife Elizabeth in 1821 (see PA101/11/573). He died in about Jan 1822 (see PA101/11/597). See PA295/40/43 for his magisterial duties. He was described as a hairdresser when a sheriff in 1790, 1794, and 1795. See PA14/5/34. A city warden, 1785. He held Shortley land from the Hopkins estate - see PA279/3/4. Amongst his Pinley tenures was John Carter's land - see PA216/1/1-2. BA/D/A/47/16 shows that the Pinley land was held from Edward Inge; see also BA/D/A/47/46.VII, XII. Perkins held a close in that vicinity which adjoined the "Hare and Hounds", Far Gosford Street (see PA488/6/1/2). Qua mayor, see BA/A/G/26/67. He held messuages at Stoke Green (1800-03:- BA/D/A/56/26; BA/D/A/59/3: PA56/130/5(c),(f)), and New Street (1812 - BA/D/L/21/1). He was trustee for both Thomas Hall's purchase of Fleet Street houses (1811- BA/A/G/15/12) and a fee farm grant of Far Gosford Street cottages to John Robinson (1800 - BA/B/P/167/2). He was active as a Moore's Charity trustee, 1811-16 - see PA403/139/5; PA403/140/5, PA403/142/9; PA403/143/10; PA403/144/6. Active on the city council, 1792-1821. He was corporation treasurer, 1815-22 - see PA54/99/23,28,30,32,35,41,43,50,52,59,61,65,70,106,107,110,119-121,123,126,129-132; PA54/100/8,10,11; PA54/101/47,50; PA54/102/16,40,41,42,46: PA491/27/16. He also viewed corporation schools and hospitals, 1816-21 - see PA54/317/1; PA54/319/4; PA54/320/1; PA54/321/2; PA54/322/3. He occupied a New Street property - see PA54/204/5. A Stoke vestryman, 1810-15 [Blyth]. Qua Sir Thomas White's Charity trustee, see PA56/86/7. As a tax-collector, 1800, see PA468/4/3/8/2. As trustee for Bazil Goode (q.v.)'s purchase of Allesley and Coundon land in 1808-10, see PA488/1/1/1-2: PA2473/4/8-9. Qua Sir Thomas White's Charity trustee, see CCA/2/3/430/12; CCA/2/3/914/13. Mortgage-assignee for Cross Cheaping/Women's Market Place property from 1791 - see CCA/2/3/180/22-23. CCA/2/3/904/22-23 show that in 1819 Perkins was trustee for the gardener Joseph Francis(q.v.)' purchase of Jordan Well property. Perkins was described as a victualler when trustee for the butcher Josph Fawson(q.v.)'s Much Park Street property, 1786 - 1807 (by when he was living at Binley) (see CCA/2/3/352/7-8,11-12). As a barber, Perkins tenanted a Bayley Lane house in 1778 - see CCA/2/3/200/13.
