This Cross Cheaping grocer and salt dealer had a subscription book for the Coventry Gas Company in 1821 (see PA206/8). A chamberlain, 1810, 1811. In 1822 he occupied land near Cook Street Gate - see PA54/214/8. Of Cross Cheaping in 1830, where he was from 1811 until he had become bankrupt, vacating the premises in 1833 (PA1681/27/1: cf. PA811/5/10). In 1820 Peters rebuilt the High Street messuage which was later the "City Hotel", holding it until he went bankrupt in 1832 - see PA491/74/1-5. He married in 1803 Mary the daughter of the late salter John Hill, tenant of the sometime "Unicorn" inn, Cross Cheaping, which was where the couple lived until c.1828 - see CCA/2/3/440/40,44,51,52 (winemerchant, 1833).
