Whereby, having recited: firstly, that Charles Edward Jenkins (of Cruckton Hall, Shropshire, esq. and second lieutenant in the 13th. Hussars, on active service in Africa) possesses this deed's premises subject to mortgages; secondly, that a 14 Jul 1897 memorandum noted that he had deposited with Rose Edith Annette Jenkins (of 2, Bayshill Terrace, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, spinster) deeds for inter alia this property so as to service an equitable mortgage which would repay on 14 Jan [1898] a £2,000 loan at £4% per annum interest; thirdly, that the principal and interest are due; fourthly, that Charles Edward Jenkins has agreed to sell the hereditaments to William Neal [II] (of Eastern Green, Allesley, Warwickshire [no trade]) for £450; and fifthly, that Rose Edith Annette Jenkins is satisfied that the rest of the estate is suffiicient to bear the mortgage: therefore, in consideration of payment of the sum as agreed, the Jenkinses convey to William Neal [II] three cottages with gardens at Pinketts Booth, Allesley parish, covering 3a. 3r 30p., partly on the northern and partly on the southern sides of the main Birmingham-Coventry road as described in this deed's first schedule and shown in pink on a marginated plan, occupied by Mesdames Powers, Beecham and Taylor. the Jenkinses covenant to produce second-scheduled muniments.
