Whereby, in consideration of £25 and 5/- paid respectively to Benjamin Newland (of Coventry, brickmaker) and his trustee Joseph Freeth [I] (of Coventry, maltster), they enfeoff Sarah Jackson (of Coventry, widow) with a parcel which, staked out beyond Greyfriars' Gate, extends along the causeway for 25 feet, backwards from the causeway to Pudding Croft and for 25 feet alongside the hedge which adjoins Pudding Croft (bounded east or northeast by Benjamin Newland's ground, east or southeast by the causeway aforesaid as it leads towards Bull Fields, west or southwest by John Evans' messuage and north or northwest by Pudding Croft), part of what B. Newland and Joseph Freeth bought on 7 May 1760 from John Joyce (of Coventry, presser) and his wife Mary (daughter and heiress of the late William Keeling); covenant for further assurance within ten years and five miles; Newland covenants to produce the 1760 deed at any time within the next thirty years.
