G.B.E., J.P., M.P. for Tamworth (1923-29), he was born on 17 May 1877, became president of Birmingham Post and Mail and Coventry Newspapers Ltd., gave Allesley Hall to the corporation (it was briefly used as an orthopaedic hospital), was created Baron Iliffe of Yattendon (Berkshire) on 22 April 1933 and died on 25 July 1960. A Sir Thomas White's Charity trustee in 1936 (see PA466/5/1 p.23: PA2730/2/18.I), Iliffe sold the Barnfield Estate at Allesley, 1938-39 (see PA466/7/1 fol.178). For Iliffe's involvement with Alfred Herbert Ltd., see PA586/82/1,12. Iliffe was Fullers' Company master in 1956 - see PA468/5/11/1/40-45. As his father William Isaac Iliffe (q.v.)'s executor, 1915-31, when he lived initially at Coundon House, see CCA/2/3/34/97,99: PA2507/2/2/3-5: PA2770/9/3.
