Whereby, having recited: firstly, BA/A/G/2/3; secondly, that £2,250 principal plus £130 interest is due; thirdly, BA/A/G/2/1; fourthly, that £348/2/9 thereon is unpaid; and fifthly, that BA/A/G/2/1's premises are vested in Thomas Hudson (described as in BA/A/G/2/6), charged with £598/17/6 principal plus £21/2/6 interest: therefore, in consideration of £2,380 paid to Joseph Cater (described as in BA/A/G/2/3) and £620 to Thomas Hudson, they consign to Thomas Archer (of Warwick, esq.) BA/A/G/2/3's and BA/A/G/2/1's premises (excepting BA/A/G/2/1(c)(i)), a transaction which, for 5/-, the mayor, bailiffs and commonalty confirm: moreover, for another 5/-, Coventry corporation assign to Thomas Archer (a) the "Peacock", Cross Cheaping, occupied by Thomas Dry; (b) the Women's Market Place; and (c) the "Half-Moon" inn on the Drapery site, formerly held by Alderman James Naylor but now by James Edson - for one thousand years and payment of £3,000 principal plus £120 interest for one year, of which £60 is payable on 22 Feb 1735, the other £60 the following 22 Aug: the original 19 Oct 1704 mortgage, BA/A/G/2/3 and BA/A/G/2/1 continue valid, subject to leases with more than seventeen years to run, and to £90 reserved upon guilds and chantries land under an 18 Sep 1552 deed plus £40 per annum rentcharge which on 7 Nov 1560 the corporation granted to St. John's College, Oxford.
