Whereby, having recited: firstly, PA2398/6/2/6/25; secondly, that the principal is alone still due; and thirdly, that John Smith (of Coventry, silkman) wants to discharge the £300 but has got William Randle (of Coventry, ribbon-manufacturer) to lend him £500: therefore (in consideration of of the existing £300, of another £200 paid by William Randle to John Smith and of 10/- by W. Randle to that man's trustee James Johnson (of Coventry, weaver)) J. Smith and James Johnson consign to Randle PA2398/6/3/6/24's premises and (e) a messuage which Smith has recently built there, for redemption of £500 with £5% per annum interest on 9 Dec [1808] [sic]; Smith covenants to insure within two months with the Phoenix Fire Office for at least £500, Joseph [III] Freeth (of Coventry, gentleman) to stand seised in trust for Smith and J. Johnson.
