A As to 35, Overslade Crescent
I 30 Dec 1939. Conveyance whereby, having recited that on 16 Sep 1935 [Right Honourable] Edward Mauger, Baron Iliffe [of Yattendon (of Yattendon, Berkshire)], Hugh Rotherham [of "Rosehill", Saint Nicholas' Street, Radford, Coventry, watch-manufacturer], Edmund Oliver French [of Hertford House, Coventry, screw- manufacturer], William Fitzthomas Wyley [of the Charterhouse, Coventry, chemist] and Alec Turner [of Coundon House, Holyhead Road, Coventry, watch-manufacturer] qua Sir Thomas White's Charity trustees] sold that deed's land to Thomas Cooksey junior (in 1939 described as of Old Hill, Staffordshire, solicitor), therefore for £483/15/8 he sold Arthur Owen (of 54, Denbigh Road[, Coundon], Coventry, builder) and Leslie Francis Sawyer (of 3, Brackley Close[, Coundon Green], Coventry, builder) 997 square yards with a frontage of 74 feet 9 inches to Overslade Crescent, Coundon (part of the Manor House Estate which had been conveyed under the 1935 deed) as shown edged in pink and coloured brown on a plan reproduced herewith, with right to pass along portions of back ways coloured blue thereon but reserving Thomas Cooksey junior's right to access along portions coloured brown, he allowing Arthur Owen and Leslie Francis Sawyer to use new roads and services; holding equal shares, A. Owen and Leslie F. Sawyer might mortgage the property but would enjoy no right of light and should observe scheduled covenants; Thomas Cooksey should make up Overslade Crescent within three years of the purchasers' having built houses there and covenanted to produce the 1935 deed and George Crosbie Dawson's 6 Sep 1935 statutory declaration [qua White's Charity clerk - cf. PERSONS/3/1514].
Schedule:
1. Maintain walls and fences where a "T" was indicated on the inside boundary of the plan.
2. Only bay windows and fences (2-foot maximum dwarf wall, 4 feet 6 inches overall) might project in front of the building line.
3. Each house should be worth at least £350.
4. No noxious trade should be undertaken nor a garage or petrol station opened there.
5. No sale of intoxicating liquors or use of premises as a club unless [the brewers] Mitchells & Butlers consented.
6. T. Cooksey must approve the building plans.

III 6 Jun 1944. Certificate of Official Search against Arthur Owen and Leslie Francis Sawyer.
IV 8 Jun 1944. Conveyance for £620 by Arthur Owen (of 54, Denbigh Road[, Coundon], Coventry, builder) and Leslie Francis Sawyer (of 3, Brackley Close[, Coundon Green], Coventry, builder) to Horace Henry Cleaver (of 38, Overslade Crescent[, Coundon Green], Coventry, coppersmith) of 38, Overeslade Crescent, having a 17-foot frontage and covering 227 square yards as in PA2730/2/17
V 18 Feb 1954. Certificate of Search against Horace Henry Cleaver, Leonard Kirby and Leslie George Kirby.
VI 29 Sep 1954. Conveyance for £2,100 by Horace Henry Cleaver (of 38, Overslade Crescent[, Coundon Green], Coventry, coppersmith) to Leonard Kirby (of 33, Overslade Crescent) and Leslie George Kirby (of 113, Narborough Road, Leicester), cycle agents, of IV's premises.
