Whereby, having named his namesake son sole executor, the testator bequeaths to his own wife Mary [II] and her heirs a messuage with garden, Hill Street Place, Saint John Baptist's parish, Coventry (lately occupied by Mrs. Pears, now by Reverend [Edward Hickman] Delf [Congregationalist minister]); the wife will have their Hertford Place dwelling for life, after which their grandsons Samuel Harris Booth and Harris Booth [sic] shall obtain a half-share thereof each; the wife shall enjoy for life two Hertford Street messuages, severally occupied by William Carter and Samuel Gibbons, whereafter Samuel Harris Booth will have W. Carter's and Harris Booth Samuel Gibbons'; during her widowhood Mary [II] will have messuages at the bottom of West Orchard (tenanted by William Perkins et al), but thereafter they will pass to the testator's son Richard [III]; Samuel H. Booth will directly receive four parcels of land with the houses thereon which lie on the northern side of Booth Street, Handsworth, Staffordshire (occupied by William Sharp, Jeremiah Stevens and Thomas Elson et al at a total rent of £39/10/- per annum), whereas H. Booth will accept two parcels with houses on the southern side of the same street (tenanted by William Sharp and Jeremiah Stevens at a total annual rent of £27/1/8); to the testator's daughter Maria (the wife of Reverend Thomas Dix of Earl Shilton, Leicestershire) and her heirs pass five Hill Street Place messuages inhabited by Hephzibah Barber, Stephen Dolby, - Hasterley, - Yorke and Richard Watson; the testator's grandson Rufus Richard Dix and his heirs will have another Hill Street Place tenement, adjacent to R. Watson's and inhabited by - Sowerby; Mary [II] will receive a carriage and horses and household goods, also £100 within one month of Richard [II]'s death; remaining estate descends to Richard [III]; what the wife receives is in lieu of dower.
