Whereby, having recited: firstly, that Reverend John Fisher Robson (of the Methodist Central Hall, Warwick Lane, Coventry, minister), Francis Arthur Gosling (of 79, Allesley Old Road [,Chapelfields], Coventry [no quality]), John Fennell (of Allesley Old Road, gentleman [decorator]) and James Herbert Buckingham [baker] - respectively the chairman, secretary and two trustees of the Hall - represent herefor all the trustees, who are the owners of the Central Hall; secondly, that the trustees have applied to Coventry corporation to construct upon Warwick Lane footpath a manhole with a drain to Greyfriars' Lane at the rear of the building; and thirdly, that the corporation has agreed thereto: therefore, firstly, the corporation enables the trustees to undertake the work as shown on a plan herewith; secondly, the works shall only be used in connection with the Hall but be maintained to the City Engineer's satisfaction; thirdly, the works shall not interfere with traffic; fourthly, the trustees shall indemnify the corporation against all actions for damages; fifthly, during the course of construction only, the trustees shall pay the corporation 1/- every 1 J an, first doing so at the New Year to cover the year ending at next 31 Dec; sixthly, either side may end this agreement with three calendar month's notice, the corporation recovering from the trustees any money spent on completing the work; and seventhly, in the event of premature ending of the agreement, the trustees shall not require the corporation to pay compensation.
