I 17th.-18th. Aug., 1733. Lease and Release whereby, in consideration of 5/-, Henry Inge (of the Charterhouse, Coventry, gent.) and his wife Anne [I] (daughter of Edward Hill of the Charterhouse, deceased) entrust William Holbeche (of Canley, Warws., gent.) and Julius Olds (of Coventry, mercer) with a messuage at Stoke called the "Bowling Green" with its garden and orchard, lately-occupied by Edward Arnold but in 1733 by Joseph Ash, to the use of the Inges for the life of the longer liver, then in trust for sale so that the proceeds might be divided amongst the Inges' four younger children (Anne [II], Elizabeth [I], Mary [I] and William) but rents devoted to the orphans until then; the deeds recite a final concord made between Thomas [II] Bayley (plaintiff) and Henry and Anne [I] Inge, deforciants for 7 messuages, 7 gardens, 2 orchards, 17a. meadow and 120a. pasture which should enure to the 1733 deed's cases as no use had been declared under the fine; however, if within twelve months of his parents' decease W. Inge should pay £500 (with £5% p.a. interest) to each named sister, making them their parents' heirs at law, Holbeche and Olds should convey the premises to W. Inge.
II 11th. June, 1760. Office Copy of the will of William Inge of the Charterhouse: the testator bequeaths to his brother Edward [I] (of the parish of St. George's, Hanover Sq., Mdx., gent.) all his property, subject to a £20 p.a. annuity on Charterhouse, Pinley and Stoke lands to their sister Prudence; to his mother Anne [I], his sisters Anne [II] and Elizabeth [I], his brother-in-law Richard Gilbert and Gilbert's wife Mary, £5 each within 3 months of the testator's decease; his brother Edward [I] is named executor.
III 4th. Sept., 1762. Copy of will of Ann [II] Inge: the testatrix bequeaths the residue of her estate to Edward Freeman and Thomas Oldham (of Coventry, aldermen) to be placed in government stocks so that the interest be paid to her sister Elizabeth[I] Inge for life, then to the testatrix' four nieces Ann [III], Mary [II], Elizabeth [II] and Letitia [I] Inge; but if the testatrix' sister Mary Gilbert shall become widowed during their sister Elizabeth [I] Inge's lifetime, she should have half the interest with right of survivorship; however, if Elizabeth [I] should predecease Mary Gilbert, the interest will be reserved until the latter's widowhood.
IV 4th. Sept., 1762. Copy of the will of Elizabeth [I] Inge upon the same terms, mutatis mutandis, as III.
V 27th. Oct., 1764. Assignment of £500 from Richard and Mary Gilbert to her brother Edward [I] Inge.
VI 30th. Jan., 1794. Copy of the will of Edward [I] Inge (of the Charterhouse, esq.): the testator charges the claims of his daughters Mary [II] and Eliz.[II] Inge, and Letitia [I] Coxwell, to £425 each under III and IV above upon his premises; to his son Edward [II] is bequeathed all Coventry, Stoke, Whitley and Pinley property held by Benjamin Spell, but he must pay the testator's son-in-law John Stanton (of Kenilworth, Warws., esq.) £1,500 as the portion of Edward [I] Inge's daughter Anne Stanton and a £20 annuity to the testator's daughter Elizabeth [II] Inge.
VII 23rd. May, 1799. Conveyance whereby Mary Gilbert (of Coventry, widow; daughter of Henry and Anne [I] Inge), John Stanton and Anne his wife, Mary [II] Inge, Elizabeth [II] Inge, and Edward Coxwell and his wife Letitia [I], in accordance with the implications of III, IV and VI, sell to Edward [II] Inge (of the Charterhouse, Coventry) Bowling Green house etc. in return for the various sums of £500, £1,500 and £425 mentioned in I and VI, and payment of VI's &£20 annuity.
