As per 26 Jun [1759] vestry order [copy attached] and in consideration of 5/- each, by William Grove (of Coventry, esq. [politician]), David Wells (now or late of Coventry, gentleman [antiquarian]) and William Herbert (joiner), John Lowke (shagweaver [shag was a shaggy sort of cloth]) and William Chaplin (mason), all of Coventry, surviving Holy Trinity feoffees, of John Hall (butcher), Thomas Dullison (carrier), John Lond (presser), William Bourne (fellmonger), Edmund Huddesford (silkman), Thomas Dayus (carpenter), Timothy Sedgeley (butcher), William Breedon (woolcomber), Thomas Lawson (butcher), William Cattell (butcher), William Hopkins (butcher), Thomas Forster (staymaker), John Mander (silkman), Thomas Bennet (apothecary), Edward Villers (ironmonger), Thomas Ballard (chapman [recte cheesemonger - see BA/H/G/5/19]), Benjamin Bird (silkdyer), Lilley Smith (oilman), Francis Blick (chandler), Joseph Eld (baker) and Robert Reeve (apothecary), all of Holy Trinity parish, Coventry, vestrymen and newly-elected feoffees, with (a) CCA/2/3/233/1(a)'s Gosford Street messuages, now inhabited by the aforesaid Thomas Dayus, Benjamin Barwell [victualler] and Widow Laxon; (b) CCA/2/3/233/1(b)'s Little Park Street ground, now or late let to Thomas Kearney; (c) CCA/2/3/233/1(c)'s Cow Lane tenement, occupied by Edward Gravener junior [silkman]; (d) CCA/2/3/233/1(d)'s Earl Street tenement, let to Richard Edwards; (e) CCA/2/3/233/1(e)'s Greyfriars' Lane property, held by Thomas Wormleighton [carpenter]; (f) CCA/2/3/233/1(f)'s Greyfriars' Lane property, in lease to Benjamin Newland [silkdyer]; (g) CCA/2/3/233/1(g)'s Spon Street ground, successively let to Julius Olds, Timothy Haycock [weaver] and now the aforesaid Edward Villers; (h) CCA/2/3/233/1(h)'s Spon Street fee-farm rent, the messuage now demised to the aforesaid William Grove, esq.; (i) CCA/2/3/233/1(i)'s Spon End tenement and Urchinfield ley, leased to Edward Botterill; (j) CCA/2/3/233/1(j)'s Smithford Street tenement, now inhabited by John Gilbert [silkweaver]; (k) CCA/2/3/233/1(k)'s Well Street tenement, rented out to the aforesaid Edward Villers; (l) CCA/2/3/233/1(l)'s barn site with backside at Cook Street, tenanted by Roger Parker junior; (m) CCA/2/3/233/1(m)'s Cook Street tenement with backside, occupied by the aforesaid John Lond; (n) the "Crane" inn, etc. rentcharge, the messuage being inhabited by the silkman Samuel Oldham; (o) the rentcharge from a Bishop Street tenement inhabited by James Wigley, esq.; (p) the rentcharge from CCA/2/3/233/1(p)'s Cross Cheaping messuage and Dog Lane close, both occupied by the said William Grove; (q) CCA/2/3/233/3(q)'s Cross Cheaping messuage, still occupied by George Secker; (r) CCA/2/3/233/3(r)'s Cross Cheaping house, now let to the said G. Secker; (s) CCA/2/3/233/3(s)'s messuage on the western side of the Cross Cheaping street which leads to Broadgate, along with Lockers Moore (as in CCA/2/3/233/1(r)), both leased by Joseph Higginson [weaver]; (t) a shop with appurtenances at Cross Cheaping, lately occupied by Benjamin Brockhurst, deceased but now by Alderman Thomas Brockhurst; (u) a Cross Cheaping tenement with cellar, lately occupied by Thomas Bott but now by the aforesaid Robert Reeve; (v) CCA/2/3/233/1(v)'s Derby Lane tenement or stable, occupied by the aforesaid Joseph Eld; (w) CCA/2/3/233/1(w)'s Derby Lane property, now inhabited by -; (x) the site of CCA/2/3/233/1(x)'s entry and room, now incorporated into Holy Trinity's cemetery; (y) CCA/2/3/233/1(y)'s fee farm, only on the site of Jesus Hall a messuage has been built for the vicar; (z) the vicarage site whereon stand now a stable and outbuildings for the vicar's use; (aa) a parcel of ground, 35.5 feet deep by 22 inches wide, on the northern side of a new messuage formerly inhabited by [the tailor] John Currin, which parcel [no site] represents an encroachment that that man made upon Trinity property, so his executors now pay 2/6 per annum for it; (ab) CCA/2/3/233/1(aa)'s West Orchard tenement, inhabited by William Jackson; (ac) two Horwell closes and a meadow [cf. CCA/2/3/233/3(t)], occupied by George Newton; (ad) three Horwell closes (formerly four) farmed by the aforesaid Thomas Dullison; (ae) CCA/2/3/233/3(ad)'s two Horwell closes, occupied by Richard Cooper [innkeeper]; (af) CCA/2/3/233/3(ae)'s two Horwell Closes, used by -; (ag) CCA/2/3/233/1(ad)'s Allesley farmstead, leased to Francis Turner Blythe, esq.; (ah) the land appurtenant to (ag), which at the time of enclosure was allotted in lieu of the 48a. and is enjoyed with the homestead; (ai) CCA/2/3/233/1(ae)'s Skinnards property at Bell Green, let to John Reading; (aj) CCA/2/3/233/1(af)'s Holbrooks estate, leased to William Harbert; (ak) CCA/2/3/233/1(ag)'s Coundon rentcharge, the closes being occupied by the aforesaid James Wigley; (al) CCA/2/3/233/3(aj)'s messuage and two closes at Coundon, tenanted by -; (am) Upper "Suckmore" as at CCA/2/3/233/1(ai), occupied successively by Christopher Davenport, Robert Reeve and now John Lond; (an) Stoneydelph and The Stripes as at CCA/2/3/233/1(aj), farmed by - Taylor; (ao) as CCA/2/3/233/1(ak)'s Barrs Hill Close and another, occupied by Edward King, esq.; (ap) CCA/2/3/233/1(al)'s Brinklow estate, now described as a messuage with Dovehouse Close, Cures Meadow, Ell Meadow, Upper Ell Close, Nether Ell Close, Stiley Edge Close, Trinity Ell Close, Stiley Hedge Furlong, "the close against the Hill" and Wood Hill Close or Woodfield Close, occupied by William Webb and allotted at the time of enclosure in lieu of what Horatio Coackley had held in the common fields after Mr. Slaymaker; and (aq) CCA/2/3/233/1(am)'s Keresley rentcharge, the lane being occupied by - : to be held upon the same terms as those in CCA/2/3/233/1.
