This silkman was a sheriff in 1807 and 1808. A chamberlain, 1798. Active as a Moore's Charity trustee, 1793-1825 - see PA403/139/5; PA403/140/4,5; PA403/142/7,9; PA403/143/10; PA403/144/6,7. Active on the city council, 1811-27. In 1811 he occupied a messuage outside Well Street Gate - see PA454/1/5. Pears was involved in 1803 when Thomas Latham (q.v.) sold to his fellow West Orchard Chapel trustees a croft near Hill Street for use as a burial ground - see CCA/2/3/168/29(a);.
