Whereby, having recited: firstly, CCA/2/3/757/5-6; secondly, that James Walter survived John and died during Dec 1831 a widower, intestate without issue, Richard [II] Walter (in 1835 described as of Wood Street, Cheapside, London, ribbon-manufacturer) being the eldest son of his eldest brother the late Richard [I] Walter; thirdly, that, by deeds dated 28-29 Sep 1832, for £620 paid by Richard [II] Walter to Abraham Herbert [silk-manifacturer] and John Wilson [coal-merchant] (only), those two and John Wilson with his wife Mary, Hannah Walter (spinster), Thomas Parsons [ribboinweaver] with his wife Ann, Elizabeth Walter (spinster) and Susanna Walter (spinster) conveyed to R. [II] Walter premises (b) as below with William Barton as his trustee; and fourthly, that Hannah Howlett and Ann Howlett (of Bubbenhall, Warwickshire, spinsters) have agreed to lend R. [II] Walter £1,000 and his wife Sarah to the extinction of her dower-right: therefore (in consideration of £1,000 paid by Hannah and Ann Howlett and 10/- by Thomas Howlett (of Bubbenhall, gentleman)) R. [II] Walter appoints that the 1832 transaction shall operate with Thomas Howlett as trustee; moreover, in order to extringuish the dower-right upon (a), R. [II] and Sarah Walter entrust Thomas Howlett with (a) CCA/2/3/757/6's premises (messuage to the east occupied after George Beet by Thomas Cave, now by John Day; that to the west now occupied by -), now inhabited by T- Marshall, - Davis, Thomas Johnson, - Johnson, Ann Wilson (-), George Flinn, Widow Dyall, Widow Pepper, - Hulm, - Suffolk, - Gutteridge, George Sammons and John Walker; and (b) a messuage with newly-erected warehouse and factory behind Jordan Well (long occupied by the late Richard [I] Walter, now by the nephew and Henry Soden): for repayment by R. [II] Walter to Hannah and Ann Howlett on 19 Mar [1833] of the £1,000 with £4/10//-% per annum interest; T. Howlett may sell if payment default by six calendar months after notice; R. [II] Walter covenants to insure for at least £1,000 and pay the Howletts the premiums, the male holding the policy.
