By Edward Saunders (of Weston-under-Wetherley, Warwickshire, knight) (as per BA/H/H/314/17,18) of Thomas Dudley (gentleman), Edward Damportt (pewterer), Richard Smyth (vintner), William Hopkyns (draper), Thomas Kervyn (grocer) and Edmund Brownell (merchant of the Staple), all of Coventry, for £400, with (a) a messuage in Smithford Street with a croft to the rear, all lying between the baker John Gardyn[er]'s tenement (inhabited by Elizabeth Booghe, widow) on the east and the carrier Richard Shewell's "Redde Lyon" inn (let to John Orme) on the west, extending from the street on the north to the town wall on the south, together with all Coventry city property; and (b) two pastures to the south of the wall, called [Great] Puddynge Crofte and [Little] Pudding Crofte, together with all other extramural property except a messuage outside Greyfriars' Gate which lies between corporation property on either side and a close (-a.) at Keresley, both of which the tailor Peter Cokeson of Coventry holds: Roger Edgworth', gentleman and Richard Belcher are appointed attorneys to deliver seisin.
