By mayor, bailiffs and commonalty to Joan Brownell (of Coventry, widow) of (a) eight bays of building in the Welsh Market outside Bishop Gate, (b) a croft to the rear of those barns, (c) a close at Lockers Lane called Cowp[er]s Field, and (d) "The Bromy Close" (adjoining (c)) with barn thereon in Hasilwood (extending from Lockers Lane to the highway), which Joan Brownell occupies, reserving timber: to be held from 29 Sep 1588 for 21 years at £3/11/8 per annum (20/- for (a) and (b), 26/8 for (c), 25/- for (d)); J. Brownell may lop timber; void if rent one month behindhand, disrepair three momths after notice thereof or unpermitted assignent. [Former reference: 30 Elizabeth I/8.]
