Having recited: firstly, that John Eginton (of Coventry, gentleman [watchmaker]) at the time of his will (19 Jul 1837) was seised of hereditaments ut infra which he left to his nephew and executor Thomas Eginton; secondly, that John Eginton's will was proved on 3 Apr 1846; thirdly, that on 11 Aug 1849 Thomas Eginton remitted the property to the Coventry & Warwickshire Banking Company Limited (of which John Ralphs (in 1853 described as late of Coventry, now of Pinley, Coventry, esq. [ribbon-manufacturer]) and Thomas Stephens (in 1853 of Coventry, esq.) were trustees) for sale and payment into his account of sums up to £1,000; fourthly, that £ - is due under that security; fifthly, that Richard Kevitt Rotherham [watch-manufacturer] and Thomas Banbury [shag-manufacturer] (both of Coventry, esqs.), Josiah Cash (of Leamington [Spa], Warwickshire, esq. [stuffmerchant]) and Samuel Newsome and Abraham Burbery Herbert [ribbon-manufacturers] (both of Coventry, esqs.) are the bank's present directors; sixthly, that John Ralphs and Thomas Stephens auctioned the messuages on 20 Apr [1853] at the "Craven Arms", Coventry to William Millerchip (of Coventry coaldealer) for £585; and seventhly, that William Millerchip wants the property conveyed subject to the following provisions: therefore (in consideration of £585 paid by W. Millerchip to J. Ralphs and T. Banbury) Ralphs and Banbury, and Richard Kevitt Rotherham et al, convey to Millerchip five messuages with appurtenances, Bishop Street [no side shown] (successively occupied by (1) William Chump, George Stratford, William Stevenson, Joseph Lander and John Ward; (2) others; (3) John Roe, Elizabeth Stratford (widow), George Cantril, Joseph Gardner and John Bell; (4) William Harrison, Elizabeth Stratford, George Cantril, Joseph Gaskin and John Bell; (4) William Harrison, Elizabeth Stratford, George Cantril, William Brown and John Bell; (5) John Eginton, Nathaniel Smith, Mary Wallington, John Bell and Richard Bridges; and now (6) - Burnett, Thomas Moorcroft, Edward Ward, John Wright and John Boyland) with Thomas Ball Troughton (of Coventry, gentleman [solicitor]) as his trustee; covenant to produce the security. 24 May 1886. Endorsed memorandum of conveyance by Theophilus Fox [solicitor's clerk] to George Francis of one of the houses [in Kelly's directory for 1896, George Francis is shown as a boot- and shoe-maker, 48, Bishop Street].
