Whereby, having recited: firstly, that a bankruptcy commission has been issued against Richard [II] Clift and Benjamin Pratt (of Coventry, stuff-manufacturers and partners), directed to Francis Wheler and Richard Gresley (esqs.) and Thomas Mason, Thomas Wilmot and Thomas Dickenson (gentlemen); secondly, that Richard [II] Clift and Benjamin Pratt have traded as stuff-manufacturers but owed William Little and John Woodcock (of Coventry, bankers) over £100; thirdly, that R. [II] Clift and B. Pratt have been declared bankrupt; and fourthly, that the commissioners have examined witnesses and noted that the bankrupts have possessed Coventry property: therefore for 5/- Francis Wheler, Thomas Wilmot and Thomas Dickenson, as the major part of the commission, consign to Thomas Pratt (of Coventry, grocer) and William Twycross (of Coventry, dyer) the bankrupts' property in trust for sale.
